We only process personal data that we really need, because you use our services and/or because you provide this data to us yourself, for example by sending us an email.

Why we process personal data

Your account

If you create an account with us, we ask for your name, address, e-mail address and telephone number. We need this information to be able to deliver our chocolate to you and to contact you if something is not right. When you place your order and pay, your bank details will also be saved so that we can process your payment. You can view and change your data by logging in via your account.

Our newsletter

If you have given permission to receive our newsletter, we will also use your e-mail address to keep you informed of our new products, promotions, offers and other good news. If you are no longer interested in our newsletter, you can unsubscribe at the bottom of each mailing by pressing ‘unsubscribe’.

Special and/or sensitive personal data that we process

We do not intend to collect data about website visitors under the age of 16. Unless they have parental or guardian consent. However, we cannot check whether a visitor is older than 16. We therefore advise parents to be involved in the online activities of their children, in order to prevent data about children from being collected without parental consent. How long we keep personal data

We do not store your personal data for longer than is strictly necessary. The statutory retention obligation for data in accounts receivable and sales records is seven years. If you have placed an order with us, we will store data such as name, address, e-mail address, payment details and telephone number for 7 years. If you have signed up for the newsletter, we will store your name and e-mail address until you unsubscribe from us. If you contact us via our e-mail address, we will also store the data that you may share with us. This will make it easier for us to help you with questions in the future. We keep this data for a maximum of 2 years.

Sharing personal data with third parties

We are very happy with you as a customer and fan and we would like to keep it that way. That is why we respect your privacy and will never sell your data to third parties. We only share your data with parties because this is necessary for the implementation of our service or to comply with a legal obligation. For example, think of our distribution center, delivery services and our mailing program. We conclude a processing agreement with companies that process your data on our behalf to ensure the same level of security and confidentiality of your data. Hands Off My Chocolate remains responsible for these processing operations.
